Dometic GO Hydration Water Jug 11L Review

Staying hydrated while camping is crucial and having a convenient way to store and dispense water can make a big difference. For years, our family purchased multiple gallon jugs, which was pretty wasteful. In this post, I will be reviewing the Dometic GO Hydration Water Jug 11L, which we have used several times now.

Design and Build Quality

The Domestic Go Hydration Water Jug features a sturdy, BPA-free plastic construction that feels durable enough to withstand rough handling during travel. Unlike most jerry cans which feature one handle and a spout on the opposite side, this jug has a sleek, ergonomic design with webbed handles on both sides, making it easy to carry, even when full. It also has built-in tie down guides for securing to our teardrop trailer.

Ease of cleaning was really important to me when searching for a water jug and the wide mouth opening allows for that. In fact, my entire hand can fit through the opening to scrub so I don’t have to worry about gunk and bacteria forming in random crevices. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised when the water did not have a “plastic” taste, which is a huge plus in my book!

Capacity and Functionality

The jug boasts a generous capacity of 11 L (2.91 gal), making it ideal for family camping trips. The volume is enough to keep everyone hydrated throughout the day without needing constant refills. Perhaps my favorite feature is the included CPC fitting that is compatible with the Dometic Go Hydration Water Faucet (sold separately). While this is not absolutely necessary since the jug comes with a water spout for pouring, the faucet allows you to keep the jug completely stationary while filling up water bottles or using it as a sink.

Pricing

If there is something to criticize about this jug, it would be the price ($70). While it is cheaper than jerry cans with built-in water filters, if you are looking for a simple water jug, then there are definitely cheaper ones out there (at least L/gal to dollar).

In summary, while the Dometic Go Hydration Water Jug is not the cheapest on the market, if you are looking for a durable and convenient way to store and dispense water, it is definitely one to consider and one that our family has enjoyed.
